You all know how much I love television! I am so excited fall tv is back in full-swing! I already talked about what shows I am most excited to return, and most of those have at this point, yay! A while back I also mentioned the new shows I wanted to check out. Well... They are coming out one-by-one and I have been trying to keep up. A few shows released their pilots early, I already told you guys about those. But, I am going to mention them real quick. Then I'm gonna tell you guys which shows I've checked out so far, and which I'm still waiting for!
Reviews: I Watched...
Ben & Kate + The Mindy Project - Click HERE to check out the reviews of those pilots!
The New Normal - This aired a few weeks ago and was also a pilot that relased early. The review on the pilot is also in the link from above. But, this show has been on for a few weeks now... And I am LOVING it! Like I have repeated a million times, I love having Justin Bartha on my TV. It's funny, cute and just adorable. Oh, and the grandma is a freaking nutcase, it's hilarious! This is definitly a show to check out especially if you like shows like Modern Family and Glee.
Partners - The pilot was alright. I think it could use a bit of work to work out the awkwardness, but I liked it. Mainly, cause I love the cast and I want to see them together. I definitely want to see where they take the show, just because the pilot sets it up very interestingly. It hasn't been getting much love, but I will definitely be checking out some more episodes!
The Mob Doctor - I am iffy on this show. I thought the concept was actually pretty cheesy. I really don't think mob/gangster shows can really work if they aren't on HBO or one of those types of channels. Especially considering the main mobster on the show, just came from Boardwalk Empire... I checked out the show for my lover Matt Saracen, I'm sorry, Zach Gilford. And he was pretty good, I'm just glad to see him working. But the show overall, not too sure. I think what got me is the fact that it's on FOX. It seems like it should be on TNT, next to Rizzoli & Isles. I don't see it getting too far.
Revolution - It is a very interesting concept... But I wish the characters were more interesting. I am not fully done the pilot quite yet, but so far I'm not the biggest fan. I don't think I have the patience for it. There is so much going on and so many people. I still don't get why the power went out...
Shows to Skip
Animal Practice - Nothing about this show looks very appealing to me. None of the cast jumps out and the concept either. It's like Dr. Dolittle without Eddie Murphy...
Beauty and the Beast - Seriously, when one thing comes out everyone follows. First the was Once Upon a Time, then Grimm and now more?
Go On - I've heard mixed reviews about this show. I'm not the biggest comedy fan to begin with and I'm not a big fan of anyone on the show. So, it didn't intrigue me much. I think I will watch the pilot, but I don't think it is for me. If you've seen it let me know what you thought!
Guys With Kids - This show did not get many great reviews. I am pretty sure it will be getting cancelled. It just doesn't really have a target audience, some good cast, but that's it.
The Neighbors - Honestly, cannot believe this show even made it to the small screen.
Made In Jersey - I think I've had enough about Jersey for the rest of eternity.
Emily Owens, M.D. - You are not House, you never will be, so don't even try. Wow, that was mean. But, it's true.
Still Waiting/Yet to Watch
666 Park Avenue - September 30
I really wanna see this pilot. I've seen the trailer, and I really hope it's more than just a haunted apartment or hotel.
Elementary - Just came out and i really want to check it out. I know it'll be a procedural, but it seems interesting enough. It has also gotten some pretty good reviews so far.
Arrow - October 10
Hmm, he's hot, why not?
Nashville - October 8
Love Connie Britton, she has pretty good taste in picking TV shows. I think it may be the best bet of the season. Cannot wait to check it out!
Last Resort - I actually do not know or remember what the show was about, but I've heard it is one of the must-see shows this season.
Have you checked out any new shows?
Which ones do you like?
Happy Friday guys!!! So glad the week is winding down! For this week, I was thinking and thinking... Then I was like, my little cousins always ask me, 'What's your favorite song right now?' And I'm always like... I don't know.. Cause I stink at being put on the spot. Plus, they are way behind on music. I don't even know how cause they listen to the radio... Anyways, I thought I should compile a little playlist of the songs I love listening to these days!
One More Night - Maroon 5
Reminds me of Songs About Jane... Oh the good old days.
Clique - Kanye West ft. Big Sean & Jay-Z
I could do without Big Sean, but I always love a song from the dynamic duo.
Ho Hey - The Lumineers
This song plays at work, and then I heard on the radio, now I'm in love.
Pop That - French Montana ft. Rick Ross, Drake & Lil Wayne
Love the beat, it always wakes me up!
I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons
Yay new music! And it's good :D
You Need Me, I Don't Need You - Ed Sheeran
Pretty much everything Ed Sheeran, been listening to his CD a lot!
What are your favorite songs right now?
If you haven't heard by now, 28-year-old actor Johnny Lewis was found dead yestereday, September 26. It is believed that Lewis killed his 81-year-old landlord before he either fell or jumped to his death.
You may know Lewis, most recently from Sons of Anarchy. But back in the day he used to be on The O.C. as Chili, Drake & Josh and the short-lived Quintuplets, among others. He was always one of those actors I hoped got a big break. If you remember him from the older stuff, you know he was the funny, adorable sidekick. This news really hit me, just cause I never even thought... It is tragic enough to know he passed, but to think of what he may have done. I cannot imagine it.
Former Quintuplets co-star Ryan Pinkston tweeted out:
Obviously, things took a turn somewhere. He was caught in some trouble recently, as he had numerous run-ins with the law beginning early this year. Lewis was just released from jail on September 26. It is clear he was having major issues, which eventually drove him off the edge.
Sons of Anarchy director, Kurt Sutter released a statement through his WhoSay page:
"...it was a tragic end for an extremely talented guy, who unfortunately had lost his way. i wish i could say that i was shocked by the events last night, but i was not. i am deeply sorry that an innocent life had to be thrown into his destructive path. yes, it's day or mourning, but it's also a day of awareness and gratitude. sadly, some of us carry the message by dying."
Johnny used to date Katy Perry. Katy's best friend, actress Shannon Woodward, also a close friend of Lewis released a statement:
"Johnny Lewis, I love you deeply and madly and always. My heart is broken in a million little pieces. I will miss you every day... (He) was one of my best friends. He was very, very ill. His actions were a despicable result of that. It was not who he was."
This is a tragedy on many levels. I just wanted to make a post in appretiation of who he used to be and to show how fast and deep one can go astray.
RIP Johnny Lewis
Yesterday marked the 25th Anniversary of the beloved family sitcom. I for one owe my name to this show, since I was named after the Michelle from the show. And I grew up on this show as a result. I've seen the entire series a bajillion and a half times. Even my little cousins know the whole series, 'cause it really will last a lifetime. 90's shows were da bomb. I really cannot believe it's been around for that long!
The cast, minus Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, got together yesterday to celebrate. How cute is that? So, let's have a gif party, with some of the pics the cast took together yesterday, to celebrate!
Were you a Full House fan?
What was your favorite episode?
I've been doing lots of TV and Movie posts lately. Thought I'd do something a bit different this week. I'm in my 4th year college now, so I've taken lots of classes. I thought I'd share my favorite classes so far.
This class was a lot of fun. Half of the semester we learned about poetry and the other half short stories. I was never good at poetry, but I finally learned how to write it. I ended up liking the poetry section better than the short stories. The teacher was super nice too, and that always makes the class better!
This class was really interesting. I took it over the summer, so the class was really small. I like smaller classes better. But it was nice cause we had some interesting discussions. It was cool to learn about how different people live in different cultures.
Not the best artist, but I always wanted to do some thing in the art/entertainment field. I didn't think I'd get the chance to ever actually do it cause my major has nothing to do with that. But I just went for it last semester, and I really loved it. This semester as I was going to one of my classes I saw a couple of my drawings hanging up in the hallway, so that was neat.
This class was actually needed for my major. I thought it was so fun to learn how to make a website. Our main project we got to make a website on whatever we wanted. So, I ended up making a website about the Oscars, cause you know I love my movies.
What are some of your favorite classes?
Well, that was fast! It's time again! This year's Emmy's will be on September 23 on ABC at 8 PM EST. The show will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. I'm interested to see how that goes. He's a pretty good late night host, but definitely not my favorite. But he does know a lot of the stars, so we'll see. I get really into these award shows cause I love TV. When the nominees were released I made a post, but I will be reposting them here, to make things easier. Here is how I think the night will go and how I would like it to go.
SUPPORTING COMEDY ACTOR
Ed O'Neill "Modern Family"
Jesse Tyler Ferguson "Modern Family"
Ty Burrell "Modern Family"
Eric Stonestreet "Modern Family"
Max Greenfield "New Girl"
Bill Hader "Saturday Night Live"
My Pick/Will Win: I'm sorry, but if Max Greenfield doesn't win, I might have to hurt somebody. Yeah he's new, but he's AWESOME! No one can deny he was the best supporting actor ALL season. I mean even my older brother watches New Girl, for Schmidt. Everyone watches this show for Schmidt! Seriously, people started watching this show just for him, just give him this Emmy already.
SUPPORTING COMEDY ACTRESS
Mayim Bialik "The Big Bang Theory"
Kathryn Joosten "Desperate Housewives"
Julie Bowen "Modern Family"
Sofia Vergara "Modern Family"
Merritt Wever "Nurse Jackie"
Kristen Wiig "Saturday Night Live"
My Pick/Will Win: The only show I watch here is Big Bang. And well, Amy Farrah Fowler is legit the female Sheldon Cooper. So, if I vote for him, I must vote for her. And her scenes are so ridiculous.. I predict her speech to go like this... Insert Tiara with Emmy.
Jim Parsons "The Big Bang Theory"
Larry David "Curb Your Enthusiasm"
Don Cheadle "House of Lies"
Louis C.K. "Louie"
Alec Baldwin "30 Rock"
Jon Cryer "Two and a Half Men"
My Pick: Sheldon Cooper, of course! He has been lucky enough to have won twice already, so I'd be cool if someone else got a shot. But I'd be estatic if he got his 3rd.
Will Win: Louis C.K. I'd be very okay with this, it'd be about time he won. The only other two who really have shot are Jim Parsons and Alec Baldwin, another previous winner.
Lena Dunham "Girls"
Melissa McCarthy "Mike & Molly"
Zooey Deschanel "New Girl"
Edie Falco "Nurse Jackie"
Amy Poehler "Parks and Recreation"
Tina Fey "30 Rock"
Julia Louis-Dreyfus "Veep"
My Pick: Zooey! I just love New Girl, but I really don't think she has a chance. Lena Dunham would be great too, she has a bit more of an edge since she not only stars in but created and does pretty much everything for the show.
Will Win: This one is tough cause there is Melissa McCarthy, everyone is still obsessed with her. And she is pretty awesome, so you know. Plus, there is Julia Louis-Dreyfus who the Emmy's love, so that could happen. Plus Tina Fey and Amy Poeler... I really don't know. I hope they all go up on stage together again!
"The Big Bang Theory"
"Curb Your Enthusiasm"
My Pick: How awesome would it be if Girls took it home? I am thrilled they got nominated, at least these people in charge got that right. This show is just great all over, but it may be too cool for the Emmy's. Second best, Big Bang. Sheldon loving all day, every day!
Will Win: Modern Family. It's 'modern' for lack of a better term, but still fits in with that old style sitcom. Plus, it's an Emmy favorite.
SUPPORTING DRAMA ACTRESS
Anna Gunn "Breaking Bad"
Maggie Smith "Downton Abbey"
Joanne Froggatt "Downton Abbey"
Archie Panjabi "The Good Wife"
Christine Baranski "The Good Wife"
Christina Hendricks "Mad Men"
My Pick: Not a fan of Anna Gunn, so this is one Breaking Bad I do not see winning. I do love Christine Baranski and she's the only gal from Good Wife who has yet to win. I'd love to see her get one, finally.
Will Win: This just may be the year Mad Men finally gets an acting win. Since only the show has won before. I really dislike that show, so I'm hoping against it. Otherwise, Downton Abbey is a huge favorite and well Maggie Smith is a boss.
SUPPORTING DRAMA ACTOR
Aaron Paul "Breaking Bad"
Giancarlo Esposito "Breaking Bad"
Brendan Coyle "Downton Abbey"
Jim Carter "Downton Abbey"
Peter Dinklage "Game of Thrones"
Jared Harris "Mad Men"
My Pick/Will Win: UGH this is SO hard! I lurve Tyrion, SO MUCH! And he was freaking amaze-balls this last season. But Aaron Paul is just as awesome! I'm gonna give this to Paul, cause he deserves one more time, and I'm sure Peter will get many more goes at this!
Glenn Close "Damages"
Michelle Dockery "Downton Abbey"
Julianna Margulies "The Good Wife"
Kathy Bates "Harry's Law"
Claire Danes "Homeland"
Elisabeth Moss "Mad Men"
My Pick/Will Win: I don't really have a pick in this category cause I don't really watch any of these shows. I used to watch The Good Wife, but I'm pissed she won last year instead of Connie Britton, so I hope she doesn't again. But I am very sure like 99% sure Claire Danes will take it home..
Steve Buscemi "Boardwalk Empire"
Bryan Cranston "Breaking Bad"
Michael C. Hall "Dexter"
Hugh Bonneville "Downton Abbey"
Damian Lewis "Homeland"
Jon Hamm "Mad Men"
My Pick/Will Win: Once again, don't really have a preference too much here. Cause even more-so then the last, I am PISSED that Hugh Laurie wasn't even nominated! It was his last chance EVER to win for House. And yes, this season wasn't amazing, but he was awesome! Anywhos, this was the first year he didn't even get a nomination, bull, plus he has NEVER won, even more bull. Okay, I'm done now. Bryan Cranston will win, for the millionth time. But he's badass, so it's cool.
"Game of Thrones"
My Pick/Will Win: As much as I love Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, is pretty fantastic. This is their last year and they should really go out with a bang. And I swear if Mad Men tries to get in their way... They already have 4, time to start being Happy Men.
Will you be tuning into the Emmy's this weekend?
Who are you rooting for?
The final installation is FINALLY here! Man, summer went by so fast. I would like it back, right now. If you haven't already check out Part 1 and Part 2, it's ok. It doesn't really have anything to do with this one cause it's a whole new batch of movies! But I didn't do too well on Part 2 as I did Part 1. I've only seen 4 of the 10 movies, and one I'll be seeing next week hopefully. But considering 2 of the 4 was Batman and Spider-Man, I'm cool with missing the rest ;)
Anywhos, the year isn't over yet! Which means there are still plenty of movies to look out for! I'm sure I'm missing a few, but I'm sure I'll let you know somewhere if there is something else to look out for. Here are the ones I'm most excited about.
Bachelorette - September 7
Tomrrow! A lot of people may have the notion it is just like Bridemaids, especially since it has Rebel Wilson. Who, by the way, is freaking hysterical! But, it is less Bridesmaids and more The Hangover, girls gone wild style. It has already been released online and on iTunes.
Finding Nemo 3D - September 14
I know, this movie already came out, years ago. BUT IT'S NEMO! I want to find him again!!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - September 21
You all already know how much I lurve Logan Lerman, the book and how excited I am. I really hope it doesn't disappoint. You can check out the trailer HERE.
House at the End of the Street - September 21
So... Hunger Games fans will go see this movie cause of Jennifer Lawrence. I would like you all to keep an eye out for Max Thieriot, aka Hottie McFine, aka the guy I wanted to play Peeta. When you see this movie you will see their chemistry and how he looks like Peeta, especially opposite her, and how perfect he would have been for the part. Even though I think he's gonna be a bit of a creep in this movie. Whatever, he'll be a hot creep. Rant over.
End of Watch - September 21
This movie is either going to be super awesome or major lame. I'm hoping it's awesome. Specially since I've never liked a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and I really want to. I mean, look at him. I need a movie I can watch over and over to stare. Oh, and I know the song is uber old in the trailer, but it's perfect. I hope it's not like Prometheus where I sit there for two and half hours waiting for the music that never comes.
Looper - September 28
I need to see why they had to mess up my lover, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face. Umm, Bruce Willis, you should be trying to look like him!
Argo - October 12
Gotta admit, I was never the biggest Ben Affleck fan until he started directing. I loved The Town, and this trailer looks great.
Lincoln - November 9
Already told you guys that I wanna check out this movie.
The Hobbit - December 14
I'm lame, I've never seen the Lord of the Rings movies fully through. BUT! I am one of those people who like to read the book first, which I haven't. But if I watch this, I'll make sure to watch the others too! It looks fantastic.
Monsters Inc. 3D - December 19
I love Pixar.
This Is 40 - December 21
I'm on the fence about this, cause I barely watched Knocked Up. But I do love Paul Rudd.
Djnango Unchained - December 25
This movie looks awesome. Excited to see a new Tarantino/Waltz movie.
Which movies are you excited to check out?
Almost didn't make it! I've been so busy with school and work, I keep running out of time for everything! I've been working really hard on my interview, which I just posted, a bit late, but it's finally up. I'd love if you guys checked it out, right HERE!
Anywhos, this past week I noticed how Hulu had some early previews of a couple pilots and of course I was all over that. So I thought I'd share my thoughts on them with you. If you haven't seen the episodes yet, go over to Hulu and check them out. They have seen The Mindy Project, Ben & Kate and The New Normal. It's FREE! You have no excuse! So, here are my thoughts...
The Mindy Project
As an Indian person, I often do not like fellow Indian people, but I LOVE Mindy Kaling. She is one of the very few exceptions. Probably, cause she is even whiter on the inside than I am. She's pretty cool. The pilot was so-so. It has a lot of potential, but needs to find it's groove. I love the pop-culture references, like Michael Fassbender's private parts. But, it was very predictable and a bit annoying. I wish her character was a bit more put together, I mean she is a doctor. Hopefully, it was just the pilot. Cause pilots can be way off of what the real show ends up like. I need to see a few more episodes before I'm on board.
Ben & Kate
I actually thought the pilot was cute. I don't know how long the show will stay on and how it will be recieved, but I think I'll definitely check it out. Ben is adorkable and Kate is relatable and her daughter is a freakin cutie pie. I'm not quite sure where the show is going, but I'm interested in finding out. Plus, there was a guy in the pilot who she's dating, he was HOT. I hope he's in the rest of the season.
The New Normal
This show has gotten so much heat, but it's solid. There are always people who are going to be rude and ignorant about different people and their lifestyles, but the truth is, people are going to be who they are. And they should be able to without others judging them. This show is a great step forward. It's a comedy, but with Goldie's grandma we see different perspectives, which makes the show even better. I enjoyed this pilot a lot. Mainly because, I know I will get to see Justin Bartha's face on a weekly basis. SCORE!
Have you checked out these shows yet?
Which are you looking forward to seeing?
A couple days ago, I had the pleasure of getting to chat with musician Greg Raposo. Most of you probably remember him from the boy band Dream Street. He has been working on his solo career since then and released an album in May called Loss Love Life. Being a huge Dream Street fan, this was such a great opportunity! Thank you so much Greg! Check out the interview right here!
Favorite karaoke song:
Typically the ones that are in a lower range cause I have a lower voice. So, a lot of the time I’ll pick a Red Hot Chili Peppers song. Um, songs that I know like Under the Bridge, that’s like, my go-to karaoke song. But if I’m feeling saucy, you know, when I’m with some friends and I wanna be all wild and crazy. But at the end of the day, any fun song to make it work. Depends on your motives, you know, if you’re going to karaoke to show off or have a good time.
One thing on your bucket list:
I would love to… I like to sky dive a lot. I’ve only gone a few times, but I love it. And I’ve seen videos of these people in these wing suits and they look like flying squirrels. And that is something I’d probably put on my bucket list.
I have a connection with Spider-Man. I’ve always secretly thought I was Spider-Man cause I like to climb things. So, when I was younger people used to call me Spider-Man because I’d always be hanging on things and climbing things. But the funny part is actually that I’m afraid of heights. And I’d climb to the top of a tree and then I’d be freaking out. (But now he’s skydiving… Even though he still claims to be afraid of heights… Alright Greg.)
Favorite class in high school:
Oh, I took a really cool acting class in high school. It was probably my favorite class. A bunch of my friends were in it. We liked it so much that they hadn’t done it before and when the class was over we told them to do it again, like acting class #2.
So, you have been playing some shows lately. You had recently come to Pennsylvania where I missed you, and then went on to open for The Fray and Kelly Clarkson at their show in New York. How was that?
It was awesome, I mean. They have great fans and I feel like our music, their style of music and my style of music, you know, relates to each other. So, I feel like it’s a similar fan base. So, I got a great reaction from the people there. I got to meet some cool people and hang out. Best part was I got to watch the show. It was a lot of fun. It was really exciting to have that opportunity.
Is there an artist that you would love to go on tour with or have a collaboration with?
I mean I’m very open-minded, so probably very few artists that I wouldn’t want to tour with or collaborate with, honestly. But, there are so many people it’s hard to say. Right now I’ve been listening to a lot of like James Morrison. Another favorite artist of mine is a guy named Marc Broussard. Yeah, he has an awesome voice. Um, you know, there’s Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw. If I were to choose, you know, choose someone like that. Maybe Bruno Mars. There’s so many people.
Are you still on the road doing more shows? Where are you headed next?
No, I’m back here now. Starting to get back in the work routine, but as for shows. I’m always looking to play more shows and I’m fortunate enough that I still do get calls from a lot of people who are looking to book me. I’m kind of like an open book, you know, whatever comes my way. I’m always looking for opportunities, but as of right now I actually don’t have much coming up.
Your last album Loss Love Life was released back in May. Are you working on any new music, since you are not on the road?
Um, good question, I actually have been writing some new music. I just finished up a new song, yesterday actually. So, I might do something different, take a turn. Test out a new style, possibly. Right now, I’ve been getting some interest in people, you know, being that the album Loss Love Life was recently released and we did the music video. I’ve had producers actually contact me, who are interested in shooting some more videos. I might do some more video stuff with the existing album that I just released, for the time being while I’m working on other music.
I don’t know, I mean I just go with the flow. So nothing I say is really written in stone, but I’d kinda like to do something less personal and deep and more fun. Maybe like a dance album or electronic album. I was actually listening to a lot of like house music and like dubstep type music. Something along those lines, but something melodic and pop-y, catchy hooks that come out of me naturally and incorporating that with some house, flowery type music. Like break it down into these heavy dubstep bridges. I don’t know, something that’s gonna be fun for me.
At this stage in the game everything I do as an artist is not for a label, it’s not for really anyone other than myself. And it’s who I am and what I really love to do so it’s a great position to be in when you’re making music. Because you want to and not cause you have to or you, you know, sign the papers that say you need to have a song every other week or whatever it is. Everything I do is literally just what I feel.
I love your song, That Day, you wrote for your fan you became friends with, which you went on to make your first single. I had no idea that was your first solo video, for some reason I thought there were more. What was that experience like?
That was awesome, I mean we had so much fun. I was really working with a great production team and video company. So, it’s just such an awesome, you know, experience to have. And it was really special, you know, especially because of the circumstances and what that song means and stands for. It was just really nice that, you know, I have so many people come and support the message and relate to it and want to share it. I did that video really cheaply. Everybody involved to make it happen was really doing it, you know, because they related to it and wanted to help, rather than being this job, you know. I literally could not have even recorded the album or shot the video if it wasn’t for the amazing support I’d been getting from fans, friends and band members and producers. It’s so humbling.
You said you might be making more music videos. Do you know what song you would want to make your next music video?
I have a lot of ideas. I actually, I mean Loss Love Life, I put sound effects in between all the songs. Most people wouldn’t know this but I did that purposely because I had this like concept album idea where I would shoot videos for every song, out of order. Nobody would really know until the end when you had 10 music videos and they could be put back to back and it would transition seamlessly into one another making like a story from beginning to end. When I listen to the album I hear the story and I can visualize it and see the story. That’s why I put those sound effects in there, was because to entice listeners to come up with their own stories. But yeah, I originally did have an idea of making 10 music videos. Almost make it a short musical. But again, I’m a big idea guy I have so many ideas. But it takes a lot of time and a lot of money to do, that I couldn’t afford to do 10 music videos, you know. It depends, if there is some music guy or investor who comes and sees the project and potential and wants to make it happen then, of course, then let’s do it. But it’s not something I’m really expecting to do and then again, you know, I can probably sit on this album making music videos for years. But how I mentioned earlier I always have so many new things come up in my mind I feel like it’s just a matter of time til I’m gonna want to work on some new music.
One of the songs off my new album I wrote years ago, but just never recorded or released it. So, I decided to put it on this album. But yeah, I mean I really feel like a new direction I’m going to go, like these songs were from really personal places. And it’s one thing to record it and put it out there and share it like that and it’s another to be touring and playing it every night like some of those songs I have a hard time singing them just because of where they bring me in my mind, you know. So this is an album that means a lot to me, to make, to put out there, to make as a dedication to my cousin. And hopefully, I felt like, honestly, it did, it was very therapeutic experience for me. It really helped me through a hard time. With having that music and helping me, my real goal was that it would do for others what it’s done for me. That’s the real purpose of LossLoveLife, is really to just provide inspiration, strength or whatever it is to other people. But moving forward, you know, write some music that doesn’t make me want to cry when I hear it, you know. And I’m a fun guy. When I’m on stage, it’s always a good time. So, that’s what I was going with that whole electronic dance thing.
Now I know you always get asked about this, but I was a huge fan, and still listen to the CD, so I must ask about your Dream Street days. Is there one moment from being in the band that sticks out to you?
There are a lot of those. I’d say, well actually when we shot the Dream Street music video there was a moment where… Even though we were only around in the public eye for a couple years there were still a couple years before that where we were working really hard at it. So there was a moment when we were shooting the music video where we really felt like all the work and years that we put into it really, like paid off. We had these fireworks going off behind us and it was on the 4th of July. And they built this stage and all these cameras and it was like the best moment. I don’t even have words, everything that I can’t think of. Got all teary eyed and we had to stop production for a second to kind of all just, you know, have that moment together and then get back into shooting.
Do you still keep in touch with any of the guys?
Yeah, I’m still in touch with everyone.
Your sound has definitely changed from your boy band days. How would you describe your sound to people who aren’t familiar with your newer music?
I’d say it’s pop-rock
What should we all be looking forward to from you soon?
Just a lot of creativity and realness. I like to keep it real.
Is there anything you would like people to know? Where they can reach you?
I’m very easy to be reached. You can reach me through Twitter, Facebook, ReverbNation, YouTube, all of that. So if you write a message to me, it’s really coming to me and it’s actually me writing back to you. I love hearing from people and like I said earlier if, literally, if it weren’t for the support that I have for so long from so many people I literally couldn’t continue doing everything that I do in the professional manner that I am able to. I will always be writing music. I will always be performing. I will always be recording. But, it’s the support from friends, fans, family that makes it, you know, the potential of becoming something. I’m just incredibly thankful to have the support and I hope people realize how impactful their support really is. For not just me, but any artist. So, if there’s an artist you like, showing your support and giving them your support is you know, the best thing you could really do. It’s love, you know, having love from people. Treat me like I’m your friend, it makes the world go round.
Thanks for checking out my interview!
No, not as a vampire! I am still wondering why anyone even bothered to make that movie.. But, that was not the only Abraham Lincoln movie in the works. Steven Spielberg's Lincoln is set to come out November 16, 2012. It is supposed to be a historical drama that takes place in the late president's final four months. We will get to see the president handle the Civil War as well as putting an end to slavery.
The movie will have some familiar faces, such as Buzznet favorite Joseph Gordon-Levitt. As well as some acting greats like Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones. The 16th president will be portrayed by two-time Oscar winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis and you will surely be taken aback by how uncanny the actors resemblance is to Lincoln himself. Check out this poster which was just released today:
Now check out a photo of the president.
I know one is a side-profile... But you can see from the poster how much alike they look. There are other posts of Lewis in character you can check out on the interwebs. But seriously, twins from different centuries?! My mind is majorly blown.
This is one of my most anticipated movies of the fall. I love historical movies and this sounds and so far looks amazing.
Are you interested in checking out the movie?
Do you think Lewis is a long lost relative of our late president?
