I almost missed it! Without school, I can barely keep track of the days! Plus, today has been uber busy. I'm sorry, but I still have 50 minutes before Friday is over! So, let's continue with winter festivities with 5 of my all-time favorite Christmas songs!
Rockin Around the Christmas Tree
When I think Christmas songs, I think of Home Alone. This song when he has all his cardboard cutouts to make the burglurs think there are people in the house, classic! I love her bluesy voice and it is just so catchy!
Carol of the Bells
To continue with Home Alone, cause it's awesome. I fell in love with song because of Home Alone. And this version in the movie is the only way I like it. It's creepy sounding, yet complete awesomeness at the same time!
Who doesn't love this song it is an absolute Christmas classic. And his voice, just so warm and Christmasy! Wonderful!
Last Christmas Apart
You may have never heard this one. It's from this great singer from YouTube, his name is Sam Hasan. He has an absolutely sweet voice! Go check out his covers. This particular Christmas song he made has been on repeat for me. It's kind of sad, but adorable at the same time. If you go to the YouTube page here you can download this song in the description, FREE!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
Like the fact Gary Coleman is in this video isn't enough?! NSync will forever be my favorite boy band! I love this time of year just for them to play this song, on nonholiday radio stations!
Are you feeling the holiday spirit?
What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday song?
Next Week: Friday Favorites: Christmas Movies!
For some reason I wasn't even in the loop that the Golden Globes were coming up. Man this year has gone by so fast! I always prefer the Golden Globes over the Emmys and Oscars because it combines television and movies. Plus, it's more like a party and most people get drunk, and well that's always entertaining. Anywhos take a look at this years nominees!

Alright you guys! What are you guys thinking? First of all I think we need to address how AWESOME it is that Ryan Gosling is nominated for best actor in drama AND comedy! What?! Thank you Golden Globes. He has to win at least one, right? So I love all the love for The Help, but no Emma Stone? I'm glad they gave so many to the other ladies in the movie though. Cause they were all wonderful. Can we also talk about how My Week with Marilyn is nominated under comedy/musical. Umm what? It's a comedy? Or is it a musical? I'm so confused. Also, so much New Girl love! Woot woot! I mean clearly the world can't get enough of the adorkable Zooey Deschanel. I know I can't! But I'm surprised there is no love for 2 Broke Girls, what? Overall, with movie I'm quite content. Television... Mehh. But I can deal with it.
What are your thoughts on the nominations?
Who are you rooting for?
Alright you guys! My turn fell at the perfect timing! Today is my official first day of break and now I can tell you about my idea for the letter W! I chose Wonder for my assignment. Hope you guys like it!
Here's the formal definition:
Now you can just do Wonder like....
In India my aunt made these banana leaf balls in like 5 seconds.. I wonder how she made them, I wonder how she learned, and I wonder how long these balls lasted. Cause as soon as my little cousins and I started to play with them, they fell apart. But this is what they used to play with back in the day. I wonder if this was the only thing they had to play with....
Since it's Winter... Winter wonderland? Or Just wonderland? Like Alice in Wonderland?
Or you could do wonderful! I mean the world around us can be pretty wonderful! Most of the time right?
Everyone on board? If there are any other forms of Wonder that comes to your mind go for it! Wonderific! :D Now get going!
The deadline is Wednesday, December 21st!
I will have the round-up posted Thursday, December 22nd.
And putting it in Photo of the Day would be a great help! So I can find them all!
Can't wait to see what you all come up with! Have fun! :D
I'm done all my finals! Break for almost a month! Woohoo! Now I can fill you in on my latest obsession. I've been watching this everytime I take a break from studying. It is SO good! Remember my post on Skins, check it out here. Well, I got all caught up on that and was still on a British kick, so I gave this a go. My friend who told me about Skins told me to check this out, and I am completely hooked!
The show follows 5 'teenagers', in quotations because that's what the synopsis says, but they look like they are in their early to mid 20s. I mean they are definitely older than me, and I'm not a teenager. Anyways, they are all doing community service for various reasons and on their first day there is a freak storm and they develop powers. Yes, that sounds so lame, but if you watch it, its totally AWESOME! The characters are just fantastic and all of their personalities correspond with their powers.
I don't want to give away too much about it cause I want you all to go watch it! I'll let you know that my favorite character is Simon! He is just adorapibbles. And Nathan is hilarious. Kelly, Curtis, and Alisha are great as well, but those to really hit it off with me. The first two seasons are up on Hulu and the third season is going to start December 19th! I'm uber excited! Plus, there is 6 episodes first season and 7 episodes in the second season so the show goes by so fast! And on top of all that the 4th season was just confirmed WOOT!
Have you guys checked out this show? Will you?
What are your current TV obsessions?
All right, I am probably just writing this to avoid studying, but I think everyone should be informed about this! If by now you don't know, I dananananananananana LOVE BATMAN! I don't think I'm more excited for anything next year, well aside from The Hunger Games. And Dark Knight Rises (I wish they chose a different title) is only coming out next summer! The great minds behind the movie, oh Christopher Nolan how I'd love to meet and work with you, keep us glued to our seats with teasers every so often. This way fans don't forget and are increasingly curious to know what will happen. At this point we know that there is a stellar cast which includes Anne Hathaway as Cawoman(not a fan of catwoman) and Tom Hardy as Bane, among others.
Here is the new poster that was just released featuring Bane:
I always hear how all the posters are similar and even looks too much like Inception, but I personally think it works quite well. When I see these posters I know it's a Christopher Nolan movie and it makes me happy. I'm liking this poster much more than the previous one which outlines the Batman symbol with buildings. I think now we can narrow down that Bane will be the stand out villain in the movie. Since there have been so many characters floating around, I think it is on purpose so much attention is being given to him, even opposed to Catwoman. Also, it seems quite evident things are not going to be easy or good for Batman. The shattered mask, the rain, all points to a very gloom road before he rises.
Also, just recently two 'documents' were released to Wire and Empire magazines pertaining to the movie. Take a look:
Very cryptic eh? All I have gathered from these documents are that the actor playing Dr. Pavel will be Alon Aboutboul, but that isn't giving away much, I know. I'm right there will all of you trying to figure this out. I wonder how he'll be worked into the movie, if he will be at all...
What do you think of the new poster and make of these documents?
Are you excited for the new movie!?
Which character are you most interested in seeing?
It's that time of year! I'm so excited! Only 2 more days of school, which means 3 finals, but after that break! Finally! I am SO ready! Christmas is by far my favorite holiday and I love when shows have themed episodes whether it's Christmas or Halloween. I thought I'd start spreading the holiday cheer with sharing some of my favorite Christmas episodes!
I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I was actually named after Michelle from this show! So I grew up with this show and all things Mary-Kate and Ashley! Anyways, I love this episode where they get stuck in an airport! And Michelle grabs the mans wig on the plane, "Kitty." Click here to watch clips from the episode!
I've made quite a few posts to express my love for this show. They have 3 Christmas themed episodes. They are all awesome! Anyways, this show never disappoints. Like for real. Watch this. The episode is called, 'Christmas Joy'. Yes it's the end of the episode, but if you don't fall in love at this. I'm highly disappointed.
Boy Meets World
My favorite show of all time! This episode is great, I love the old Morgan! And Cory and Shawn, always great. I love how light-hearted and funny this and yet it always has a great meaning.
The first show that popped into my mind when I thought of this post. Only Seth Cohen would come up with something like this!
The Big Bang Theory
Still my favorite moment from the show ever! Sheldon Cooper. If you never watched the show or don't understand it, this will sum it up for you!
Do you love Christmas?
What holiday themed episode is your favorite?
Next Week: Friday Favorites: Christmas Songs!
I absolutely love watching TV and finding new shows to start obsessing over. And this year there was no shortage of great new shows. It is safe to say that the girls dominated TV this year! So, I'm going to go over my favorite new shows from 2011 and them some that I still need to check out cause they look awesome. Keep in mind this is all of 2011, not just the new fall series! Let's go!
2 Broke Girls
Whoever decided to give me Kat Dennings on a weekly basis deserves a medal, or a cupcake. Because I'd take a cupcake over a medal anyday. The show follows Max(Dennings), the resident broke girl, and Caroline(Beth Behrs), your highness who fell from grace. They move in together and must face the real broke world together. Max is a cupcake maker and Caroline is trying to start up a business from it. The humor is dry and witty. Anything that comes out of Dennings mouth is pure gold.
The story of my life! But seriously, watching the things Jenna goes through each day beyond hilarious. She's the girl you feel like you were in high school, but she actually does things, you know? I feel like I was Ming, who is a lot like Lane from Gilmore Girls, cause she is never allowed to do anything, like me. Anyway, as funny as it is to watch the nonsense that happens to Jenna, it is also very sweet. Plus, Beau Mirchoff who plays Matty is super hott. Yes, I put 2 t's in hott.
Zooey Deschanel, you can't get much more adorable than that. Everything she says, I'm just like stop being so cute. Also, Schmidt, I die. He's flipping hilarious. The things that come out of his mouth make absolutely no sense, it's awesome. And Nick is too cute. Him and Jess will end up together, you heard it here first. ;)
This show is so good. Seriously, I'm on the edge of my seat every week. Yeah, it has a bit of soapy feel to it, but it is still amazing. The show follows Amanda Clark who is pretending to be Emily Thorne who is played by Emily VanCamp, follow? It sounds confusing, but it's not. Each episode Amanda is trying to take down one of the people who put her father in jail. Things get so complicated and intense, this is probably my favorite new fall show.
Harvey Spector and Mike Ross my favorite new bromance of 2011. Ross(Patrick J. Adams) stumbles into a law office and with his crazy IQ lands a job with New York City's best Lawyer, Spector(Gabriel Macht), even though he's a college dropout. The chemistry between these two is fantastic. They are so funny and smart and hot. Nuff said? Yeah, I thought so. Oh wait, I can't not tell you how awesome Donna is. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch!
Shows I Need to Watch:
American Horror Story
I've heard that this show is very interesting. I really want to check it out espcecially since it has some people I really like in it. It looks so weird and creepy that I just have to check it out! When I get some free time after finals, I will be getting on top of this!
This new show on Showtime looks really good. Claire Danes on TV again? I loved My So-Called Life, I mean she's probably no Angela Chase, but I'm pretty sure on this she's actually kicking ass. She plays a CIA agent, pretty cool right? Gotta check this show out!
Follows airplane stewardesses and a couple of the pilots as they travel the world. It's a period piece which is quite interesting and has a great cast. I've rather enjoyed this show, but it hasn't been doing great on ratings. So everyone check it out on Sundays at 10pm on ABC!
Too funny! This show is super exaggerated, but it's hilarious. It follows Tessa and her dad who just moved from Manhatten to the suburbs. Everyone is plastic and pink and ridiculous. It is so funny to watch the interactions between Tessa and Dalia(think Mean Girls and dumb it down by 100). Plus, the girl who plays Tessa was on Shameless and reminds me of Emma Stone. Also, Lloyd from Entourage is on it!
Let's hope next year will bring us shows as good as these!
What are your favorite new shows?
It's one of the greatest rappers of all-time's birthday today! If not the greatest rapper alive. Jay-Z, Hov, Shawn Carter, Jigga, however you know him, he turned 42 today! He has been one of my favorite rappers ever since I started listening to music. I mentioned this in my birfday tribute to Eminem. In honor of this man's birthday let's go through some of my favorite videos from him!
This is the first Jay-Z video I remember! It is so different from what he does now, that now whenever I see this video or hear it I just laugh. Oh how you've grown Hov.
Love this song.
I love when artists make personal songs instead broad catchy lyrics. This is one of those songs we really get to know him.
I'm sure I've expressed my love for this collaboration already. Him being one of my favorite rappers and Linkin Park being one of my favorite bands. Collision Course was beyond amazing.
My favorite song between this lovely husband and wife. They are so great together and I think this video really shows it. The fact that he is so cool with her literally being him, that's when you know the relationship is for real.
It was only a matter of time before he made an album with Kanye West. I mean their bromance is just ridiculous. I love their Watch the Throne album. I hope they make some more videos. This was is extra awesome cause it has Aziz Ansari in it.
What's your favorite Jay-Z song/collaboration?
Happy Birthday Jay!
I think I'm late, but better late than never right? It is probably quite clear what my main hobbies are by looking at my page. I love lots of things, but at the end of the day, movies/TV are my thing. My taste in movies and shows are wide stretched, so I'm always open to suggestions. Let's just stick with movies for this post eh?
When it comes to movies, I love movies based off of real life. War movies, as I've probably mentioned many a times my love for WWII movies. Some I love are The Pianist, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan and Inglorious Bastards. My favorite movie of all time is La Vita e Bella! I know it's in Italian, but everyone should watch it! Watch it with subtitles, cause dubbed movies are just not worth it. It's funny, heartwarming, adorable, and meaningful.
Some other real-life movies I love which aren't WWII related, Shattered Glass (Oh Hayden Christiensen <3), Erin Brockovich, A Beautiful Mind, Milk, Hotel Rwanda, Donnie Brasco, Catch Me if You Can, etc. etc. etc.
Then there are sports movies! Remember the Titans, Miracle, Friday Night Lights (movie and show), and Glory Road, etc. etc.
I also love action/gangster movies! Like The Godfather, The Departed, and Goodfellas, In Bruges, The Boondock Saints among others. Even though they are violent and what-not I just think they are some of the most well made movies. Dialogue and plot wise. When it comes to action think Jason Bourne.
Oh I love Batman too! Batman with Jack Nicholson as the Joker, and Batman Begins/Dark Knight. And for the love of Christopher Nolan, I lurve Inception too!
I've never been a romantic, but I LOVE chick flicks. Like Legally Blonde, 13 Going on 30, Miss Congeniality! They are just too funny and cute! Also modern Shakespeare movies, cause I don't understand real Shakespeare! 10 Things I Hate About You and She's the Man! Oh and Easy A, which isn't Shakespeare, but you get the point.
I'm such a little kid at heard, I always love animated movies! If I start naming them I'll never stop, so let's just assume I love them all!
Miscellaneous category of movies I love that I can't categorize. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Social Network, The Hangover, Forrest Gump, The Little Rascals, The Shawshank Redemption and many many more!
And let's not forget about 2 of the best 80s movies ever, The Breakfast Club & Ferris Beuller. Nuff said.
Sorry this was entirely too long! I clearly am obsessed. This was more like a guide to my favorite movies. What are some of your favorite movies?
I would have totally waited until tomorrow to post this, but I just got so excited. MATT SARACEN IS IN IT. I'm sorry, Zach Gilford, who plays Saracen on Friday Night Lights is in it. The song is very cute, and the video is a great concept. I'm not too into Taylor Swift, but at the end of the day I kind of think I just wish I was her since she always gets to date or kiss guys I <3. You know what I mean? This is the video for her song Ours from her album Speak Now. Without furthor ado here it is:
What do you think of the song and video?
If you didn't know Zach Gilford before do you love him like I do now?
Do you wish you were Taylor?
