After eight years, the best doctor on television will be checking out. Dr. Gregory House will go down in history as one of the best characters ever created. You have to thank the man behind the cane for that, Hugh Laurie. I cannot believe the time has come, but it has been announced this current 8th season of House, will be the last. There has been a lot of hinting towards it, but now it is official. For the official statements check Entertainment Weekly's post.
House is one of my all-time favorite shows. The character is just so brilliant and well acted and written, it is sad to see him go. There have been so many amazing cases, that only Gregory could solve, and it is always so entertaining to watch him do it. House with Wilson <3. However, the show has had a great run and I'd rather see it go on a high point than keep dragging out. But what will we do without him?
Just an FYI: Hugh Laurie has NEVER won an Emmy for playing House, nor has the show ever won. Can we start an army to make sure that happens this year? Let's start early so this will definitely happen!
Will you miss House?
What was your favorite episode?
Did you guys tune in last night to NBC's brand new show Smash? At this point everyone should have seen the pilot at least once, because it was released for a free download on iTunes for the past couple weeks, it was also released on Hulu and NBC's website. And after all that, the show finally aired on TV last night after The Voice. I know there is already Glee, and do we really need another musical show? Yes. Do we really need more Marilyn Monroe? Why not?
I found the pilot to be quite entertaining. Now if you haven't seen it yet, go to Hulu, watch it and then come tell me what you thought! Here are some reasons I enjoyed it and think you should check it out too.
For the pilot the music was great. I enjoyed the fact they didn't choose any songs that are big at the moment. The only pop song they did was Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," but it was done well. Also, you can tell that the music isn't the main focus of the show like Glee, it will be a lot of about all the different characters as well. By that I mean, every situation won't be tied together in a song. I found it lovely that the show opens with Katherine McPhee doing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" like she covered in American Idol.
Hard Work Pays Off
Karen Cartwright played by Katherine McPhee moves to the Big Apple to follow her dreams of being a Broadway star. She is a waitress and gets turned down audition after audition, her parents think she's wasting her time, but she still keeps at it. I think this is a great example for obvious reasons. Everyone has a dream that they find to be a reach, but when you keep at it and don't give up, you may just end up with an opportunity of a lifetime.
Debra Messing Back on TV
Come on now, everyone loved Will & Grace. She hasn't been totally M.I.A. since then, but it's nice to have her back in our homes on a weekly basis again.
You Don't have to 'Sexy' to be Successful
Karen struggles with the fact that she is not 'sexy' enough to play Marilyn. And I know it's Katherine McPhee, she's hot. But she plays a sweet girl next door type and she is more cute and adorable than hot and sexy. It's the fact that her being herself without sexifying herself that caught everyone's attention at her audition though. I think it'll be interesting to see how far she'll go to get the part of Marilyn as the show progresses and if she'll be able to stay true to herself.
Who's Going to be Marilyn?
Probably, the main aspect that got me hooked is that I really want to know who will play Marilyn Monroe. You think it's going to be Katherine McPhee, cause she's the underdog, but what's the point of the show if she's going to get it so easy. Plus, Ivy may be annoying, but she has major talent, major broadway talent at that. I seriously don't know who it's going to be.
Did you watch Smash? What did you think?
Who do you think will end up playing Marilyn?
My favorite singer Gavin DeGraw is celebrating his 35th today! Remember when I told you about my love for him a few months back? No, check it out HERE! In honor of the day the world introduced this talented man, I shall conjure up some of my favorite songs from him. Even though I love them all, I'll try to narrow it down. Most of my favorites, happen to not have videos, but it's the music that matters, okay? Here they are:
I Don't Wanna Be
I know, I know there is an official video for this song, but I won't even lie, my love for him was discovered from One Tree Hill. To this day, this is my favorite opening credits of any show! Pretty much the theme song to my life.
Young Love Seriously, every song from him I love. 'Young love is sacrifice. Young love is tough. Young love is innocent. Young love is us' I love that. Cheated on Me I tend to listen this song on repeat. Yes, I know I've never been cheated on... But I just love his lyrics and it's just a great song. I Have You to Thank I love that he is saying how much he loves the girl without making it a sappy love song. More Than Anyone This is my favorite, and will be my wedding song. If the guy has a problem with it, then we're over! Do you guys remember this episode of What I Like About You? Stupid Rick! Gavin was great in it though! Poor Val.... I loved that show! It was also Nathan and Haley's wedding song in OTH. Wish Gavin a very Happy Birfday!! What's your favorite song from Gavin?

Oh hi there stranger, I'm Michelle and I LURVE THE HUNGER GAMES. Just an FYI. It's been over a year now that I've been obsessing over these books and since then I've gotten the majority of my friends to read them. Cause it's one of the best book series EVER! If for some strange reason you don't believe my complete and utter obsession, just go look here, or here, or here, or here. Satisified? Seriously, I've never been into any book series like this and each week I get more and more excited about the movie! Just the other day they released a new trailer, which I am totally loving!
Just a heads up: when it's closer to the movie, expect a million and a half posts. I may even just do some kind of a countdown. For today though, I thought I would tell you a few things about the new trailer and franchise that are getting me more and more excited to see the movie. Oh and a few things I'm not too pleased about. Hey, I'm just saying.
I love that they put Cato in this trailer because he is one of the more important tributes. And it's nice that they aren't just trying to show Katniss, Peeta, and Gale down our throats. The other tributes make the story as well!
Stanley Tucci is SO Blue
I'm rather excited about Stanley Tucci, cause he's fabulous. But that blue color is hideous. I mean I know it's supposed to be blue, but that much, uh no. You can't really tell in this shot, but in the trailer, oh my. And his eyebrows, I can't even. Every time he comes on the screen I'm going to die. But I love this shot of her in her first outift. Such a great scene.
Cinna and Katniss
As I've expressed numerous times, I can't imagine Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. However, I'm warming up to her. I'm really trying. I do think she's a good actress, so I'm hoping her chops shine through. Cinna is one of my favorite characters, aside from Katniss and Peeta of course. This still is just so beautiful and sweet that makes me believe that I will like Lenny Kravitz as Cinna.
I'm SO upset that they completely erased Madge from the entire movie. Yeah, that's right no Madge. What the crap? But they explain at the very beginning of the trailer where the Mockingjay pin comes from. I suppose since there is no Madge, this is the best way. But it seems a tad bit cliche, as random as Madge was, her giving the pin was her role which made her important.
I think they have done a great job creating the Capitol. Especially, since we know it was a pretty low-budget film they did a wonderful job. It looks beautiful and futuristic and amazing.
Oh Peeta, I lurve you. JHutch, you got this.
"No, when the time comes, I'm sure I'll kill just like everybody else. I can't go down without a fight. Only I keep wishing I could think of a way to... to should the Capitol they don't own me. That I'm more than just a piece in their Games," says Peeta. -page 142
This was one of my favorite scenes in the book, I was surprised they put it in the trailer, but I'm glad they did. Because Josh did a great job.
Well that was a bit longer than I expected. Don't say I didn't warn you though, I am OBSESSED. Anyways... I'd love to hear what you guys think!
What are you liking from all the trailers?
Which scenes are you looking forward to seeing on the big-screen?
It's been a minute since I heard any fresh new music from M.I.A. As controversial as she may be, she is definitely one of my favorite female artists. Most people remember her from "Paper Planes," which was basically the anthem of 2007. Now she is finally back with some new music after she announced she will be performing at the halftime show this year at the Super Bowl. She will be performing opposite Madonna and Nicki Minaj. That is a power house of woman right there. To get everyone psyched up about their performance they made a new song and video called, "Give Me All Your Luvin'," check it out:
What do you guys think of the song and video? Does this make you excited to see them all at the Super Bowl? Honestly, I found this video quite cheesy. And the scene where they are all Marilyn Monroe? Really, I mean if the movie didn't just come out at least it would have seemed semi-original. But you can't deny that Madonna looks super hot, I mean how old is this woman, hot damn. Has any other halftime show artist made a video that caters to the game? I don't think so. I did rather enjoy Nicki and M.I.A.'s verses.
Madonna premiered that video yesterday and M.I.A. decided to release her new video the same night. Her latest single is "Bad Girls." Check out that video:
How do you guys feel about this one? I always find her videos interesting, to say the least. The song isn't too bad, even though she is repeating a lot of the same things. But I love the visuals. Always makes me think and those cars are awesome. Are you glad she's back with some new music? I sure am!
Do you like these new songs/videos?
What do you like/dislike about them?
Well, I've never been on a date or been asked out, I've never even had a guy friend. This makes a lot of sense, cause I'm a naturally awkward person. You guys don't know that, cause we aren't face-to-face. But I am, really awkward. I think I always had a feeling that my parents didn't want me hanging with boys, so I've been paranoid around them. I mean I'm definitely not allowed to hang out with guys, so I just became awkward around them.
Anyways, that's why it's never happened thus far. Plus, I doubt I'm allowed to anyway. But here's what my dream first date would be.
I would want to go to a carnival. I know it sounds cliche or whatever. But I've never been to a carnival. I have gone to amusement parks and stuff, but never a carnival. And they look awesome! We have a bunch that go on around where I live, but growing up my parents never took me. And I was not really allowed to go out in middle or high school. I think it would be fun cause you can talk and get on fun rides, that are not too scary, and eat. All the essentials, you know? And on the way there and back more conversation, cause that's the only way you find out if you like the person.
Yeah, that's all I got. I never really understood how 'dating' worked.
If there was ever a reason for me to watch the Superbowl, I can't think of a better one than this. Let's be honest, who watches for the game? It's all about the commercials and half-time show. There is very little chance that you have gone online these past couple days and missed the amazingly awesome 10 second preview of Ferris Bueller: The Commercial. For those of you that live under a rock, you're welcome: Sell your unwanted vehicles near upstate / central NY to http://www.scrapperz.com/ Free Vehicle and Scrap Metal Removal.
My two favorite comedies of all time: The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller. I mean, let's be honest I would love for there to be a reunion movie or something, but I will take this commercial for now. The fact that Matthew Broderick was up to do this is awesome. So, what I'm wondering is what Ferris is like as a middle-aged man. Obviously, he has a job. But as what? Where's Cameron and Sloane? Will they be making an appearance? Does he still make mohawks and sing in the shower?
So many questions. I CAN'T WAIT!
Here's my scenario:Ferris works for Cameron (yes, for not with!) who got Sloane while Ferris is just pimping it around. How funny would that be?!
Are you excited for this commercial?
What do you want to see Ferris do this time around?
Happy Friday! I totally had no idea what I was going to do this week, and I thought 'What better than TV?,' since I love it! Now shows are only as good as the characters that drive it - Sometimes it's the main character, sometimes it's the best friend, sometimes it's a combination. There are even times when the show is alright, but the character is just amazing. Here are some of my favorite guy characters! We're going to have a GIF overload! This may be one of those part ones, that I decide later I'll add to.
He is so bad and good it's just mind-boggling. One of those people that you are like, 'how are these thoughts going through your head' and yet you just go along with it, cause he's so awesome. This show is 99% awesome because of the Dexter alone. He kills people with ration? How is that even, why am I okay with him doing that? There's something wrong with me.
Probably my favorite character ever. Now, I would never want to be a patient of his, or maybe I would. Cause I mean he'd definitely figure out what was wrong with me. Yeah, I'm torn on that. None-the-less, I always love watching him. He is just brilliant, and sarcastic, and AWESOME. One of the smartest and most clever characters ever created. Honestly, he can be as arrogant and ridiculous as he wants, I'll always love him.
Guys of Boy Meets World
Cory & Shawn, Eric & Jack. Bromance overload. I couldn't just pick one. And considering this is my favorite show of all time, I figured, why not just include them all. Cause they are all equally awesome! Cory is adorable. Shawn is the tortured bad boy. Eric was the high school hearththrob that loses... or finds.. his way? And Jack the long lost brother. All of them combined = perfection. Oh and you didn't think I would forget Feeny, did you? The man with all the knowledge and answers. How I wished he was my teacher!
Guys of Entourage
My boys. People are always saying how Ari is awesome, and how he's the best. But there is no Ari without Vince. And there is no Vince without Drama, E, and Turtle. Oh and you can't even mention Ari without Lloyd! Every single of these guys brought something to the show, and I loved watching every episode.
One of my favorite guys on TV right now. Zooey Deschanel is adorable, we all know that. But Schmidt steals the screen every episode. I am not even exaggerating that I die every time he opens his mouth. Schmidt, you should have your own show.
Okay, House is my favorite Drama man and Shelbot is my favorite Comedic man, alright? I can't choose. I LOVE TBBT! Even just seeing him in character, when he has no lines. Beyond comedic gold. Whoever created him and Jim Parsons, you are the most amazing people in the world. Everything about this character is sheer perfection! Geek love overload.
Throwback! He was probably my favorite character growing up! 'Did I do that?' Classic. When I think about this show, I wish there were more sitcoms like Family Matters out now. Those were the days. Can you believe he was just supposed to be a guest star on that show?! Thank God they kept him on!
Didn't you love when the time froze and he looked right into the camera and talked to you? Oh Zach Morris, you ran that school. I remember he tweeted me back once, and I was so excited, because Zach Morris tweeted me back. The coolest guy in school, tweeted ME!
Who are your favorite guys from TV?
I guess the biggest struggle these days is just finding the motivation to go to school. I feel like I just go and sit and am just blah. In the past 3 years I've gone to 3 different schools, simply cause my parents told me to. Everyone says how I should just do what I want, but it's not so simple.
See I wanted to go into Graphic Design, but 'brown' people don't do that. One of the reasons I don't really like brown people. I made it clear early on I did not want to go into the medical field, which my parents tend to complain about. So, I went in as an Engineering major and hated it. Now I'm an Information Technology major. Don't ask me what that means, cause I honestly have no idea.
I left my first school because my parents said that I could do Graphics if I came back and went to community college, but then I came back and they guilted me into not doing it. And I told them right then, what do you want me to>? And they said IT. However, I've come to learn they really have no idea what it is either. So, I just wonder on a daily basis why the hell I even go to school. I mean, I'm not doing bad, because I don't want to be wasting my time. But I just don't want to do something I don't want forever either.
As you all know I love TV/Movies and stuffs, so I'd love to do something along those lines, but once again, that doesn't fly with my parentals. As of now the only thing that pulls me through is when I graduate I give my parents my diploma and peace out. We'll see how that works out.
Well that was more of a downer post. I just completed went on a rant. Sorry guys!

As I mentioned earlier, quite predictable. Let's start with the good ones, try to stay positive right? Gary Oldman recieved his first Oscar nomination, ever! Can you believe it? He is one of the best actors around, it's about time! Melissa McCarthy! Yes, that is fabulous! All the love for The Help is great, but how was Tate Taylor, the director not nominated? No RyGos!? Drive, Ides of March, Crazy, Stupid Love, NOTHING! I think we need to protest. Nothing for Shame? How did Michael Fassbender not get nominated? Oh and Harry Potter didn't get any big categories, which is awful, since it was their last chance. And can we talk about this Hugo nonsense. I love Martin Scorsese, he is one of my favorite directors, but he should not be making childrens movies, and most certainly should not be getting nominated for them. And yet that movie is leading nominations, how does that even make sense?
What do you guys think about the nominations?
Or are you done with the award season?
