'Suits' Recap: Zane Vs. Zane

There was no Nashville this week, so sad, but thank goodness for Suits last night!  Always makes my week better! The stakes are high this season with and last week we saw a lot of tension. 

*Warning: GO BACK NOW, SPOILERS AHEAD!

Of course this week starts off super tight with Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey (Gabrielle Macht) shooting paper balls in to a trash can. Cause that is what really goes down in a law firm. And the infamous Michael Jordan reference, I swear he needs to make an appearance before this show ends. Jessica (Gina Torres) comes to stop the games. Boo! 

Dennis Porter died. Who he be? Harvery is not going to like who will be replacing him.. But who is it? 

Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle), finally a story line! She has lunch with her dad, who is a big lawyer, who drops that he is about to take on a case with her firm.  We see a strain in their relationship when he talks about her career. He literally tells her she is pretty, not smart, and that she did not have what it takes to be a lawyer. All on her birthday, wow. 

Crazy Meredith? Is that you!? I was really rooting for you not to be on this show. Here she plays Katrina Bennett. Who is greeted by a serious, and always ridiculous, Louis Litt. He is still bitter about not getting to hire his own associate, when Harvey hires a 5th year associate. 

Rachel tries to recruit Mike into getting her into the case so she can go up against her dad, the Robert Zane. Hense the episodes's title. A case that was already settled, is the one Robert comes in to re-settle. And that is when things take off. 

Meredith, oh I'm gonna have trouble with all these PLL/Suits cross-overs, Katrina, tries to bribe Donna(Sarah Rafferty) with some cookies. COOKIES. Katrina tries to get Donna to spill on Louis(Rick Hoffman), and Donna is ready to give out the deets. 

Robert takes a meeting with Jessica, where Jessica makes a blow at Harvey's hair. Man whoever writes this show deserves a drama and comedy Emmy. Robert wants Jessica to take the case, or at least take advantage of the fact the firm is weak. And now Jessica is prepared to, 'cut him off at the knees.'

Katrina goes to talk to Louis, who is juicing some green things. And she sucks up to him so hard, he gloats in it. 

Harvey calls in Rachel to have interesting conversation. Not only does he let her in on the case, he also let's on a bit about her relationship with her father.  But now things are going to get tenser then ever, with Rachel watching her father at work. 

In the deposition, daddy Zane goes in on the client.  It gets to Rachel, so much so that she thinks that it was aimed at her and not the client. On the other hand, Louis finds out that Katrina played him.  And now they are now officially at war. 

Mike thinks Harvey went too far, taking Rachel in, where as Jessica thinks he did not go hard enough.  Harvey finds Mr. Zane playing golf, and their case is now going to trial.

Rachel goes to Harvey while he's chowing away, ugh this man is sexy no matter what he is doing. The only person I can stand talking with his mouth full. Okay, sorry, side rant. It is nice to see Rachel and Harvey having scenes together, never happens! And she let's him know she is in for whatever and then takes his bagel. 

Louis gets back at Katrina while she is at trial. She switches all her files for pictures of Louis's face on different historical figures bodies. BEST THING EVER. Get it Louis.

Rachel and Louis do some research on the case together. They have a nice heart-to-heart that I needed to see. Meanwhile Donna tries to smooth things with Louis and Katrina, but he isn't having it. 

Mike found something big that can win their case.  They take it to daddy Zane and let him know that they are coming hard. 

Rachel goes to see her daddy. And she finally stands up to him and lets him know that she has what it takes. Then he comes to Jessica and tells him the trial is bsically going to take the firm down, or to merge merge Pearson and Zane. Harvey is not feeling that and tells Jessica that they need to put an end to everyone looking down on them. Jessica puts daddy Zane in place at tells him they aren't playing Chess, but Dominos. 

Harvey plastered Louis's office with his mug shots. OH, this episode just made me fall in love with the show all over. And there are some cute moments with Rachel and her daddy. Then Rachel and Mike.

But after all that we are left with Big Daddy Zane telling Jessica and Harvey he is passing the case over to... None other than Daniel Hardman. OH DEAR.
