Friday Favorites: Best TV Shows Of 2012
I just looked over all my posts this past year and did not realize how much happened this year. I already talked about my favorite movies of the year, so now it is time for TV! There has been so much great new TV that started, some that got better and others that ended all too soon. And as the TV lover that I am, I just had to sum it all up for you. There is a lot to go over, I will have to narrow things down.
Returning Shows:
This season was just as good as last. Jess never ceases to be a-dork-able and Schmidt just never stops being Schmidt. Everyone in the cast got more face time which was awesome. It was another solid season and kept me coming back for more!

Homeland
Finally started watching this show this year, and man was I missing out. Definitely one of the best shows on TV. It is such a thriller you just can't stop watching. I caught up so quick with this show, cause it was just so intense and well written and acted!
Game of Thrones
I always wish the season was longer. It seems to end just as it gets interesting. But this season was amazing! I could always use some more Jon Snow, but can we talk about how awesome Tyrion was this season? He is always awesome, but he seriously killed it this year!
Parenthood
Along with critics, I rave about this show all the time. People are finally starting to pick-up on this show, cause it is awesome. Kind of like how everyone in the world watch Friday Night Lights now, where were you all when it was on TV? Anyhow, this show is just always solid. There was so much going on this season and they handled everyone's storylines so well.
Suits
This is by far one of my favorites, and one of the few shows everyone I have recommended to, has loved! It came back for half of season 2 and came just as strong as the first. The rest of the season kicks off in January, and I cannot wait. If you haven't checked it out, the entire series so far is available On Demand and Hulu, so there really is no reason for you not to give it a go!

New Shows:
Arrow
Let's be honest, I only gave this show a go cause Stephen Amell is FINE. He still is, but the show is actually good! I went in thinking it would be cheesy and lame, as most things on the CW have that kind of a track record, but I was pleasently surprised.
Girls
Does not feel like this show has only been around for a year. It only came out in April! This show made such an impression in the land of TV. I don't think people expected it to be so raw and relatable. Whenever there is a show in New York with young people, people expect it to be glamorous, but this show is not by any means glam. It really shows personalities of people you may have met and struggling young girls and the awkward situations they get themselves into. I for one, cannot wait to see what Season 2 brings!

I knew I was going to like this show when I saw the trailers months ago. And the show has not disappointed me yet. There is just so much going that I never get bored. Plus, I like the pace of the show, they are not trying to rush through anything, which I find a lot of shows do in their first season. If you like juicy dramas, this is a must!
Scandal
Such a great show, another one I can't believe only came out this year! There is so much going on, and so little that is given to you. The lead, Olivia Pope played by Kerry Washington, and her whole crew are all brilliant, but so little is known about their personal lives. Little bits and pieces are given away every so often, but there is just so much more left to find out. This show leaves you at the edge of your seat every episode.
Shows That Will Be Missed:
Cannot believe he is gone forever... He was and will always be one of my favorite characters on TV ever. I am so glad that it had such a great reception and lasted as long as it did. There will never be another House or a doctor that even come close. I will miss this show so much.

Alcatraz/Jane By Design
Two very different shows. But ultimately they both ended too soon. I really enjoyed the both of them for completely different reasons and would have loved to see them get another shot.
