So, I am actually uber happy that my lover Aubrey... Drake is leading the nominations this year! He got some love for Take Care and HYFR, which is awesome. He was tied with 5 noms along with his gal pal Rihanna. For the most part, I think this is the best MTV could do this year... I lovelovelove that MIA got nominated for Video of the Year. She got some other noms for the not-so-important categories. But I don't get how she could be nominated for Video of the Year and not Best Female Artist... Does that make sense? Hmm. For Best Hip-Hop, I'm disappointed in them giving Nicki Minaj's Beez in the Trap a nom because that song is SO stupid... And the video is even worse. There were plenty of better rap/hip-hop songs which were clearly overlooked.
It's quite obvious that someone in particular was completely shut-out this year... Lady Gaga, got nothing! And she had a couple songs in the running. Another being Adele... She got a nom for Best Cinematography, but nothing else? It's ADELE! She should have been nominated for everything.
Has the Best Video with a Message always been there? I think it's a good category... but I don't remember it. Just wondering. Overall I am pretty satisified. Some love for Linkin Park, The Wanted and One Direction. Not too bad this year. No single person seems to be dominating.
What do you think of this years nominees?
