Things I am excited about? The Big Bang Theory getting nominated along with Jim Parsons, but I think we all saw that coming. Also, the Girls love is fabulous! So glad they got the nominations they deserved. Along with those girls, New Girl got some of the love with Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield, woot woot! Get it Shmidt! I can't stand the fact that American Horror Story is being considered a 'mini-series', but I am totally rooting for Connie Britton since she didn't get her deserved Emmy last year for Friday Night Lights. Plus, I don't believe she will be returning to AHS next season, which is stupid. And finally the nomination for Jason Ritter on Parenthood makes me smile. I think this may be the first time the show got any attention at all from the Emmys.
Now, that is as far as my happiness goes this year. I am SO disappointed with the nominations this year. I think I've mentioned numerous times that this was the last year for Hugh Laurie to get nominated for an Emmy for House, and that he has never won one. Well, now he will never get one. Thanks Academy for being freaking idiots. He will forever be known as one of the greatest characters ever and never get that Emmy to show for it. Along with him never getting his well-deserved Emmy, neither will Michael Pitt for his amazing work as Jimmy Darmody in Boardwalk Empire. Speaking of Boardwalk, why can't they nominate Jack Huston for his perforance as Richard Harrow, it's amazing. The Academy always gives so much love to HBO, but never when it is truely necessary. Oh and have you ever watched Fringe? It's one of the best TV shows around, the actors are fantastic, the storyline is always interesting. The fact the show isn't even nominated for any special effects things is beyond ridiculous. Let's not forget possibly one of the best new drama series this season, Revenge. Absolutely nothing for them either. I know Kathy Bates is an awesome actress and all, but Harry's Law got cancelled, so why is she nominated? Why couldn't Anna Torv, Emily VanCamp, Madeline Stowe, or any of the gals from Game of Thrones get a nomination? Is there any way for me to get into this Academy and knock some sense into these idiots?
What do you think of this years nominees?
