Friday Favorites: Hunger Games Characters
Alright you guys, we are officially in the month of The Hunger Games! Be prepared for me to spew out my love for it quite regularly. I had a post about one of the trailers and mentioned how much I love it about a month ago, check that out here. There is officially 21 days left until the movie comes out and I just cannot wait. Here's how my Friday Favorites is going to work this month. Today will be about my favorite characters in the first book, then on the 9th will be my favorite quotes, 16th my favorite scenes. And on the 23rd I'll have a very late post after I see the movie and tell you my favorite parts of the movie. Sound good? Let the games begin!
Today I'll tell you about my favorite characters from the first book. In this case everyone is being introduced, so a lot of them are actually the main characters throughout the series. But they were all new in the first book.
Katniss Everdeen - Well duh, how are you not going to like the main character of the book? Honestly, the fact that the book is revolved around a strong young girl is what makes it so great. She's so selfless and courageous which are qualities every young girl should look up to. Given such horrible circumstances, I think she deals with them rather well. She's great a thinking on her feet and is willing to sacrifice herself for those she loves. The qualities that make her up, makes her the best leading lady.

Rue - She is so young and innocent, it's awful that she was chosen to be in the games. And it's just that, that draws Katniss to her because she reminds her of Prim(Katniss's younger sister). Even with her youthfulness, she is rather cunning herself.
Haymitch Abernathy - Oh Haymitch, I love him dearly. He's a drunk and can be an ass, but he's honest and hilarious. Basically, he's the comic relief in the book and a great one at that. He was my favorite to imagine throughout the books. I just loved that you never really knew if he gave a crap or not. Most of the time I'm pretty sure he didn't, but then he had his moments. If we were ever to get more of a background story on any of the characters, I would want it to be him. We get enough to understand him, but I could read an entire book about him or through his perspective.

Cinna - Such a gentle soul. The fact that he's from the capital and has so much heart. It's that perception that each individual should not be sterotyped for a group. He was always there for Katniss, and really helped her stand out to the crowd. I absolutely love their scenes together.
Peeta Mellark - Didn't see that coming did you? Haha, not. As awesome as Katniss is, I hate the way she treats Peeta most of the time. He is so sincere and a good person down to the core. Seriously, he is just the perfect guy. Is it weird that I love a fictional character? Damn. Even in the beginning before the games he was awesome. I could go on forever. But, what I want to know is. Is there anyone that actually likes Gale? If so, what's wrong with you?
