The CW has picked up The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to HBO's famed Sex and the City. There have been rumors for months who was going to play the teen version of Carrie Bradshaw brought to life by Sarah Jessica Parker. Everyone from Emma Roberts to Miley Cyrus was rumored... but who actually got the part? None other than rising star AnnaSophia Robb. You may remember the 18-year-old from last years Soul Surfer or alongside Josh Hutcherson in Bridge to Terabithia. She's literally grown-up on the screen and what better way to cross-over to more 'mature' roles than to play Ms. Bradshaw?
You know, I'm feeling it. Based on her performances thus far, I'm a bit skeptical, but I think she has it in her to do justice to this iconic character. Aside from Robb, Stefania Owen was also cast in the new series as Carrie's younger sister Dorrit. The show will take place back in the 80s when Bradshaw was just learning the ropes. Now, I'm just excited to see who else is cast!
What do you think about the casting choice?
