Friday Favorites: Alcatraz

This week I thought I'd tell you guys why Alcatraz is going to be my favorite midseason replacement show.  In about 2 or 3 weeks I'll probably make a post for my favorite midseason shows, but they all haven't premiered yet.  Alcatraz just started on Fox this past week, and I'm hooked.  Then again, I have been waiting for the show for quite some time now.    It was a two hour premiere is up on Hulu, if you haven't checked it out yet.  Since there have only been 2 episodes so far, I can't really call it my 'Current Obsession', but it may just turn in to one.  Here are my favorite things about the show

It's About Alcatraz

Duh, I know.  But Alcatraz has been one of those interesting topics that has been around for ages.  I have to admit, I've always wanted to go visit there, cause it seems like it would be cool.  The whole topic is very weird and intriguing.  There are the things eveyone knows, but at the same time, who really knows what went on there?  The possibilities of where they can go for the show are endless.

He also produces Fringe, so I have full belief that he will do this justice.  And well he's awesome.

Sci-Fi

I'm not a huge Sci-Fi fan aside from Fringe, as I mentioned earlier, and Misfits if that counts.  I always considered that a comedy though...  However, I mention it because even though the show takes place in Alcatraz and it's about the prison and all that jazz.  It is also a sci-fi show.  The premise is that the old prisoners are returning to the future, but we have no idea how they disappeared to begin with.  Seriously, go watch the first two episodes, at the end of each you are going to go, "WHAT?" out loud.  

The Pilot was Awesome!

I have probably mentioned one too many times to go check it out already.  But seriously, it's awesome.  They give away so many important things that make me wonder what is left for them to actually tell us.  And yet it's the fact that they gave away so many key things that makes me want to see more.  Get what I'm saying?

This Guy

He plays Jack Sylvane, one of the prisoners, his real name is Jeffrey Pierce.  And well he's all hot and stuffs, even though he's a big old.  He was the first main prisoner and he was in the second episode too.  I'm hoping he's one of the main characters. I can't quite tell if it's going to be a procedural where there is a new prisoner each episode and keep going that way, but I would like Jack to be one of the main characters.  Just so I can stare at him.  I have this feeling he will be and that he's going to get with the main girl, Detective Madsen.
